"Do you need one of these 6 point black connectors Lawrence ? ."

I need the small one. Four hot pins.   It is the pin cover for the heat sensor
connector in the Relay Box.  I'm getting my new relay Monday.  I don't see what
else it could be.  One line in for +.  Eight lines out for sense & glowplugs.
Not rocket science.  It's got to be the relay.  All the Glow plugs are good
according to resistance.  Hmmmm.  I wonder though what the behavior is when the
sensors go bad??????  Lawrence Rhodes....

[diesel_mercedes] Gonna hit a Las Vegas PAP tomorrow.

Hope Nate hasn't cleaned out all the good stuff. Would like to pick up a spare Vac pump, a mono Valve, & some other goodies. They say it is gonna rain tomorrow, so will have to dig out my rain gear. Gonna go to the PAP on smiley rd unless anyone knows of a better one.
Cheers, Tony.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] PAP request

I see the 9 blades laying on the ground every now and then, and sometimes in the engine. My take - don't bother with such old plastic. Spend some money on new ones from autohaus or comparable, or scout for a newly replaced fan. Otherwise it is like the window washer jug - old plastic.

If anyone makes it out can you keep an eye out for a 1984/1985 300D or 300SD. Looking for the 9 blade plastic fan and the pulley, etc. Been reading how it really helps cool down the pre 1983 OM617s.

Official part numbers:

Pully: 617 205 09 10
Clutch: 000 200 19 22
Fan (9-blade): 110 200 03 23
Bolts (To mount the new fan.) (18x15 vs. 8x18) 000933 008131
Washer: 000433 008406

RE: [diesel_mercedes] Fuel price sticker shock

I over–did my winter bio blend rule of 50/50 and accidentally went B70 in the Suburban today.  Noticed some gelling sluggishness on the way home from work but 1.5 bottles of Diesel 911 later – all good.  Supposed to hit 50F by Monday so soon, baby soon…back to B100.

According to Performance Parts , you can simply bolt it onto your older engine , OM616/617....

Most out here are beginning to crunble from the SMOG .

Last time I looked OnLine , they weren't terribly expen$ive new .

If you're talking about the Star , ETY Parts in Eagle Rock , Ca has the re pops for $30 but I bought my original one from The Classic Center , better quality hands down , fits right etc, etc. .

It's the whole thing , not just the start part , easy to change out with slip joint pliers in 60 seconds or less .

Do you need one of these 6 point black connectors Lawrence ? .

I see them from time to time , they're fairly delicate , I broke one when converting my U.S. Spec. car to Euro. headlights as that requires them too .

[diesel_mercedes] Re: W-111 Mercedes Coupe On FLEA-BAY !

I wondered about that too but as it has 2010 tags , it's prolly not terribly rusty  just the typical neglect so common to older vehicles here in So. Cal. ~ run 'em 'till the drop then scrap 'em out , luckily they now have the Charity Auctions so not as many good oldies get scrapped .

A couple years ago before I went crasahing over the Diesel Power cliff , I was searching high & low for a W-111 Coupe , _any_  W-111 Coupe , I would have been shickled titless to find this FOUR SPEED car......

What kinda '68 Dodge Pee-Cup ? a A-110 ? D-100 ? W-200 (Power Wagon , SWEET !)

Wonder how much rust there is under the carpets?

Too bad I blew my spending money on a '68 Dodge truck recently or I would be all over this.
