Startron used , fuel intake screen has clear fuel in it , Running fine but I see some of those tiny chunks in the bottom of it again .

The one and only Mercedes in the local pick a part is a 1983 300SD. Will that fit my 240? Did Mercedes do anything like change the location of the hose fittings.

[diesel_mercedes] Re: humming noise in fuse box 300SDL
Yes , if the P/N matches you're good to go .
Be aware that all those gray colored fuses are BAD and will cause problems ! you need to buy bunches of 8A (white) 16A (red) & 30A (blue) fuses and carefully change each one making _CERTAIN_ you replace the same color fuse with the same color fuse .
Disconnect the ground cable first too .
Oops ! gotta gon! DINNER .

[diesel_mercedes] tranny troubles
I was driving home from work today and my 300SD tranny let go, I think ? It will not engage in forward, the engine just revs, it will go in reverse. any ideas as how to troubleshoot this or other diagnostics are helpful.

I put one out of a TD turbo into my 240D. Fit right in, I screwed the overflo tank to a wheel well. Fits fine, works fine, been in there for years with no problems. The TD is a 1981 and it has a turbo. No problems, Max
