Yeah I just wondered if long-term the results were still satisfactory. I don't want to do it if it's going to end up peeling off like sunburn.

[diesel_mercedes] Fuel Mileage Check 1982 240D Slushbox

Some AC used , mostly in town driving by SWMBO .

216 miles , 25.9 MPG .

Power Service Cetane Boosters used @ 3 Oz. per fill up , I only fill up when it's below 1/4 tank . silver bottle as So. Cal. doesn't really get cold enough to worry about jelling fuel .

(White Bottle for Winter , Silver Bottle for Summer)

This is SWMBO's nice old 240D with 333,278 miles on the original engine , it has one bad cylinder but using the Cetane Booster regularly stopped the dead cylinder missing @ idle ~ not bad as it's also cheaper & easier than a valve job , you know once I get the engine open I'm going to want to go whole hog on it and $pend 4 X what the car will ever be worth .

Plus of course I might as well re seal the tranny , it drips a bit .

For now , it idles smooth as silk as long as the Cetane Boost is in .

As I drove to fill it up , SWMBO asked me " do you still have enough 'Go-Go Juice ' ? " . she's cute ! I call it Go-Go Juice as she doesn't know nor care about the details , she just likes how well this old $1,500 car runs 10 years later....

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Need update on the floor wax !

Tenn. Nate,

There was a suggestion to thoroughly clean the paint and then use heavy duty wax that was designed for commercial floors.  It took several coats, but then it got shiny.  People liked it and it could repair clearcoat gone bad.

It was originally suggested for motorhomes, but people were thinking of using it on their MBs.

Springtime here, I'm either going to do the floor wax on my car OR -- how about this idea...I'm thinking about going around to a few car paint shops and picking up a variety of leftover paint and applying it in swirls all over the car with a brush.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Ceramic brake pads

sounds good, try this trick with new rotors if a machine shop that has nitrogen.Immerse rotors in liquid nitrogen. To stabilized them, and make them wear less.

I hope the Posi-Quiet are decent because I just ordered a set. Pictures looked lighter color than the others FWIW LOL. Not exactly white but light gray instead of black.
