I managed to melt down the right piston on my '72 CB450 last month. (ZOIKS!) The '69 BSA Rocket 3 has held up without complaint, though it's using too much oil. I suspect it needs a liner and piston/ring job....
Years ago, I was asked, "If you could buy any new car made, price be damned, what would you get?" I replied that I couldn't think of one, but there was probably a motorcycle out there that I would consider. More recently, I learned of the Royal Enfield INT650. If I should ever buy a new... anything (it would be my first, ever), it's probably on this page:

Thanx ! .
This is a good video .oo
To - day's bikes are better in many ways but the lack of comfort is a deal breaker for me and was before I was crippled .
Sadly there are a few older style bikes out there for new, I looked at them really hard, there are 350CC twins for under $4,000 and they sell very slowly .
In the end I bought another 45 year old twin and it's comfy and reliable.....
I'm sure the College Student on his new Honda CB300R will zip right past me in the twisty bits but, I like the more relaxed engine of a twin over most any single .
I'm still waiting for the new Honda CT125 to arrive, I hope they release it before I die of old age or whatever .
