In my opinion, the overflow upgrade is worthwhile. When a car
overheats slightly, with the old style, you lose some of your
antifreeze. With the overflow version, it is saved in the overflow
container. If you can make the other connections work, converting to
the overflow type ,ay be worth the extra trouble.

(I was jealous when I saw a car with the overflow system.)

I guess my concern is a connection would not line up. (transmission cooler) I have been told the newer tank with overflow is smaller but the tank with a cap is for older models..just doesn't make sense.
