I think I just hit a Home Run.  Found a 1982 w123 240d about 20 miles away for $500. Owner got it as a parts car for the front interior, and I get all the rest. Don't know where to put it yet, but will try to find a spot somewhere.

Brian in 98338 whose stable now includes
Mary & Martha  Twin 1983 300d's
Sylvia  1984 300SD (stranded in Ohio)
Parts Car 1982 240d (parked in Orting)

I am an alumnus of the Valve Through the Cylinder experience. Well actually my wife is. Around 1972, she was driving my 1970 wagon down the #5 freeway from San Francisco to LA at 70mph when near the garden spot of Avenal she lost it. I will not go into the gory details, but she will never forget the experience, nor will I.
