[diesel_mercedes] Brian's Door Lock Repair

 

This repair can be found in the photo section under the above title. Like most repairs, it is simple once you muddle your way through, but difficult if you don't have a clue what has "broken" to cause the problem. In my case, it was a little 1/32" metal piece that held the door cylinder lock to the toggle rod that connect to the door lock. If I were doing it again, I would chase down a 1/32" roll pin.

The pictures should show up in a day or two, or you can look for "recently added pics"

There is a PAP in Fremont, on Mowry Ave. all the way down towards the water,which I frequent. It has good selection of benzes. It is better than SanLeandro one (more cars). There is also one in San Jose, but I have not been there.
Be prepared to walk. The MB section is all the way at the far end from the entrance.

[diesel_mercedes] MB in China

 

Mercedes (Nico Rosberg) is on the pole for the Chinese Grand Prix, to be run tomorrow. This is the first time Mercedes has started from the pole position since Juan Fangio put a W196 on the pole for the Italian GP in 1955..

I don't recall if it was the W196 Silverstone streamliner, or the regular GP car..

[diesel_mercedes] Nice Cool Morning

 


It was 46* F out this morning @ 04:00 , warm to many parts but cold here in So. Cal. ~

My trusty 1984 Diesel Sports Coupe lit right off after a normal glow plug cycle and I had toasty warm heat after three blocks .

Not much traffic out so I felt free to let it out a little bit coming up the World Famous Pasadena Freeway .

A nice drive with the radio softly playing the News & Views as I blasted along .

Life is pretty dang good in spite of everything .

That music brings back some good memories. I was living in Houston at the time (no ridgetops there).
I have found that after all these years I can remember almost everything (of importance)from my checkered past.
Now however it takes a WAY LONG time to bring them to the surface!!!
