Re: [diesel_mercedes] road trip.. oldie 4 door MB conv

I don't think so, yet what a beautiful car the 300 "Adenauer" is.
Maybe, I should have slowed down a bit when I went by. :)

Not sure. Looked like the real deal.
I wish I took a pic, well had my wife take a pic, as we went by.

I just refilled the tank, and got 25mpg for that trip.

Was it a hack job or did Mercedes make Touring Cars ? .

In the late 1970's through the mid 1990's it was fairly common for poor folk to happen across an old Mercedes four door Sedan and lop the top off and run it like this in California for a few years until it needed a serious ($) repair before scra[[ing it ~ at first this pissed me off seriously then I realized that no one really wants old luxury cars (there used to be lots of Junk Yards jammed full of old Mercedes no one wanted not even the parts off of)  so some poor kids driving around the 'hood having fun , why not ? .

I saw a nice oldie 4 door MB conv today, near Santa Maria, CA, on the 101.
It looked great with a bunch of folks riding in it.

We were coming back from the central coast (Cayucos, Paso etc)

I waved as I flew by. (they were going a little slow)

RE: [diesel_mercedes] road trip.. oldie 4 door MB conv

There used to be a 170S-V in the area of Corvallis or Eugene, Oregon. The look was great.

It looked like the yellow cabriolet at the bottom of this article with the landau bars. Bill in Corvallis
