[diesel_mercedes] I thought I was feeling like the Maytag Repair Man.

 

So what is it about life that once you think you have a little part of it cornered up the way you want it, you don't?

I was poised to post up an email last Friday around the whole Maytag Repair Man idea. My coupe was running perfectly and I was bored with nothing to do and found myself looking for Renault Dauphin's again.

Just then I happened to glance down at my instrument panel and was surprised to find my temperature gauge in my coupe almost in the red.
Looking a little further down my red alternator light was also on.

At 85 mph I was not completely sure that I had blown a fan belt, but I was pretty sure. Lucky for me on two fronts that diesels don't need electricity to run and that when I drove below 40 mph my motor stayed below the red mark by a good bit.

Limping home I raised the hood and confirmed my earlier diagnosis. The thought of this Renault Dauphin quickly faded from sight again.
