I really liked Karl's idea about having two batteries, one for glowing
and one for starting. When I had a 1962 VW with 6-volt, it was worthless
for starting in real cold weather. I put in a 8-volt battery, probably
adjusted up the regulator a bit, can't remember, but it would start
dandy. Miserable car for snow country. Dont some trucks have two battery
systems, 12 volt for running the rig and 24 volt for starting??? Seems
like I've heard that. Max
