All - Thanks for your help. It was finally decided that it was in the drive shaft. They fixed that and replaced the U joints (per your recommendations). I test drove it yesterday and it seems fine now. I leave on a flight for Vegas tomorrow. It's going to be damned cold here tonight, so I haven't done anything else except feed my woodstove to help on fuel. I think I'm going down to Pensacola Naval shortly after I return home. I really appreciate the input and now I know where to ask questions. The mechanics at the shop had heard from your group on prior occasions. It's reassuring because I really haven't driven many diesels - primarily Army dump trucks on occasion.
