[diesel_mercedes] Re: Retrun spring in door latch.

?? not sure ~ are you asking about the outside door handle or the
latch proper ? .

Both are very simple to dismount & repair or replace with good used ,
you can easily swap the lock cylinder over if the handle is the fault .

Inner door panel must needs be removed for any of this however .

Have some aerosol glue ready to re - attach the plastic sheet again ,
you _don't_ want to leave this important piece off ! .

This is a _serious_ safety issue , I urge you to fix it quickly before
a disaster ocurrs .

pulling on the door knob then letting go to reset the latch. I can
see inside where the spring is hanging I can sort of push it but is
that little hole on the side of the latch for a special tool to clip
the spring back on to its perch? I had it all apart but couldn't
seperate the door handle from the lock/latch. Lawrence Rhodes.......
