[diesel_mercedes] Mercedes & SAFETY

I go to _lots_ of junkyards (three just this morning) so I get to
see , close up and personal , the remains of crashed Mercedes ~ some
are _really_ badly wrecked .

It is very rare for me to find a car with signs of death in it , few
have any blood or tissues , the passenger compartment remains
amazingly intact even after being rear ended hard enough to drive the
rear bumper almost against the back of the rear seat .

Even old , battered rusted out Ghetto Mercedes fare extremely well in
major traffic collisions .

So , if you have children , continue fixing your old Mercedes and
drive defensively .

Greetings,

Great post!

I was aware that MB was safety conscious in design and
engineering but I had never heard of the post fatal
accident investigative dissection.

I just thought it was things like unibody construction
with crumple zones, wrap around indicators, and disc
brakes.

Thanks!
