Well I'd like to know where the tank bell valve is located on the w123s and w126s.Last year I saw something under the car , rear of tank headed towards engine.Looked like small fuel lines (braided) with a splitter conector.Where it goes I don't know.maybe that is why Ma Benz says to fill the car to where the pump stops.I always fill to where I can see the fuel,for accurate fuel mileage checks.

The cap is not much higher than the top of the tank. Also in a long
left hand curve, you could get some seepage with a full tank.
