Both my 80's vintage diesels had the plug (actually it is just a regular cord and plug - just like plugging in a lamp) so don't be looking for anything unusual or exotic.  Mine had been tie-wrapped back out of side, so look in the corner.  Didn't even know it was there until my second winter.  I live in NE and it came in handy a couple of times when temp went below 0F (that's zero).  it hits -15F to -20F here at least once or twice a year.

Well said Nate. Caitlin, look at the lower front of the radiator and see if there is a plug there. That is the block heater, if it has one.
When it gets real cold you can plug it in overnight and keep the oil warm.
