Go for it.

 

I have a 1991 300D with 277K miles on it that still has people saying "wow".  I previously had a 1984 300CD and a 1987 300D (the 6-cyl Turbo model).  The 1991 has quicker response and better overall ride than either of the other 2. Also, the best fuel mileage of the bunch - 29 to 31 MPG consistently.  Gievn a choice, I'd get another 2.5, preferably a 93 or 93.
