Actually biodiesel is not vegetable oil or Wesson. Check out biodiesel.org for more information. Running straight vegetable oil is damaging to some engines. It has been reported Mercedes diesels will handle straight vegetable oil. You also see cars for sale that have been converted to vegetable oil or cars with bad engines. Since this is the case then do they really burn vegetable reliably? I may get flamed for this, but that's ok. I have made over 1400 gallons of biodiesel this year.
Adding a little Wesson would likely increase lubricity and not hurt a thing. You could also use a commercial additive.
