I changed the manifolds on my '82 240D because one 6MM threaded hole was stripped and every time I lifted the hood it accused me of not caring .
Some times one really should pick their battles more carefully .

I thought about changing manifolds, and have some from Brian's earlier dead engine, yet there are other routing issues with the A/C etc, which all are CA '85 specific, and would have to be changed too. Not impossible, yet more than just manifolds.
