Once you have all the accumulated dust bunnies and leaves out plus the built up fuzz carefully cleaned off the squirrel cage , you'll be amazed at how well it was designed back in 1976 ~ even at the lowest blower speed , it silently moves a LOT of air volume .

I don't think it would be hard to improve on that old blower motor technology, not that electric motors have changed that much over the years. But hopefully they have figured out a way to make a motor that blows more air without pulling so many amps. Hopefully at least the squirrel cage aerodynamics have improved.
