The Germans/Europeans have it right.  It's hard to be tolerant of crappy lighting when you're winding your way through the Alps at 140mph or so....

I'm using German Hella non DOT approved bulbs they're much brighter and better focused , the low beam cut off absolutely prevents dazzle to on coming traffic as the Germans are not so tolerant of crappy lighting as is the good old U.S. of A. =8-) . these are low wattage @ 60 W high beam so I can still use the original headlight switch .
