Think of the great bonding experiences you are having. Priceless.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Oh come on, I need another part now!
I can't say I'm surprised.
Both Saturday and Sunday we made the 100 mile round trip trek to Cedar Hill , where my car has been sitting in the shop for more than 4 months. We work on it when we can.
First we ran all over town to pick up the transmission filter kit, air filter and fluids. Of course they couldn't be at one store, no, we had to go to three different places.
Kevin bent the CPR to where it appears it will work now. That was a challenge in and of itself. We got everything else (possible) hooked up...as far as we know, poured kerosene in, no leaks, but a lot of gunk came out. Filled it up with new oil & trans fluid. Kevin put water in and what do you think??? Of course he saw a leak at the thermostat. The gasket crumbled when he barely touched it. NAPA DID have one in stock, $10 cheaper than O'Reilley who would have to order it, but it was right at 5pm on Sunday and they were closing! Arrrrgh. NO we didn't get to start the car this weekend. I think Kevin was pushing hard for 2 reasons...it's Valentines and he's getting ribbed a lot from the guys at work for how long it's been sitting...the same ones that have yet to offer to twist a wrench, but they offer plenty of hot air.
We still have the challenge of the exhaust to deal with. Looks like it'll be next week before it'll be road ready. We're getting closer. I think there's also something about needing to by pass something to do with the turbo. Mark in TX what was that? And how does he go about it?
