"Limited Lifetime Warranty" generally means limited to the lifetime of the original purchaser.  Craftsman tools with a "Lifetime Warranty" could/can always be replaced with new when they break or wear out, even ones you buy used at flea markets or off craigslist.

The way to know the difference is if when you buy it, they ask you your name, phone number, address, etc., to enter into a database.  When you bring back a "limited ..." tool, they will look you up to determine if you are the original purchaser.  This is not currently done when buying or returning a Craftsman tool.

I hope not :( The craftsman set I bought still says "lifetime warranty" on it...but I did notice their new "evolve" line (cushy grips, maybe lower quality?, def less $) said "limited lifetime warranty" ... maybe it's that?
