You'll be pleased to learn that those multitude of junked BMW's (Bavarian Money Wasters) in every junkyard across America , all use largely the same clamps , plugs , screws , nuts & bolts , fuses and so on .
In The Auto Trade these are called ' expendibles / consumables ' because they wear out or get dropped and vanish , or you find some bubba used the wrong thing when the car was serviced in tweakerville by the DPO.....
The good thing is : these items are scattered all over the ground in every junkyard so it's simple to grab a couple and toss in your toolbox (ash tray if you don't smoke) and have handy when you need them .
The other good news is : a year or three ago , someone mentioned that old Mercedes Diesels were effeminate (or other similarly foolish remark) so the Q. was posted : are you gay ? .
Guess what ? there's a whole buncha Gay folks here (relax folks , I don't ' out ' anyone) who know and love their old 'Benz's just like the Macho idiots love their Chevy pickup trucks =8-) .
