so, here is the Big Q - where did the name Dexron come from and what does it mean?

dexron b and plain dexron are superseeded by the new dexron.

I've read over and over again in the book that my '81 300D should have Dexron B. Where can I find it? I checked WM, kinda figured they wouldn't have it. Checked O'Reilly, they didn't have it.
