My daughters 83 300D just fried a new battery. It was the sealed type
so she couldn't check for water usage. Autozone reportedly checked the
alternator output with the new battery in place and said charging etc
was normal. If I remember correctly the voltage regulator is in the
alternator. It seems to me that the alternator is overcharging the
battery. I can change the alternator, but since it's a PITA am I
missing something else that could be causing the problem?
