Usually you take a mirror and look underneath the water pump. There is a hole there; there will probably be a stain trail of rusty water. I have never seen anything else in this area cause a leak except a failing water pump. Any play in the shaft is a failing water pump. Bill in

I'm loosing tons of coolant and it looks like it is from the water pump. I don't hear any noise and I can wobble the fins on the fan.
Any way to tell if it really is the water pump or a leak from some other source?
