i'm assuming you have a TD wagon?
you remove that giant plug on the bottom and the tank drains and you remove the screen
706 540-3285 if you want to discuss
i do it all the time on mine (i run WVO)
i use a giant nut and bolt to fit it
could be sae or metric if it about fits
then you can clean the screen gently ... it's plastic mesh but they clean well

Two Problems. Air in the lines & bad tank sender.

I have a TD(Touring Diesel) I felt around the output of the tank and can't feel
any bolts for a tank filter/screen. Took off the fuel line and not a drip. Out
of fuel with indicating half a tank. There is a big Allen bolt on the bottom of
the tank. What is that for. I'm assuming I have to tear out part of the back
of the wagon to access the sender.
Next problem. I see foaming fuel and air in the line to the injector. I also
see foaming fuel in the filter. I recently put new o rings on the secondary
fuel filter shaft. Is there a torque rating for this bolt? I had a loose banjo
bolt on top of the filter that caused trouble. Fixed. I have new return lines
but I notice shiny fluid on the #1 injector. The return lines are clean with no
fuel on them. Can an injector leak air? I'm on return & the system won't purge
the air fast enough for the car to run smooth. I do run veggie oil and use a
looped system. I switched to return to purge air but it's not happening fast
enough for the car to run smooth. I guess I could put the system under pressure
somehow and see the leak. Maybe I'll take a bicycle inner tube apart and make a
way to use compressed air to do it. Lawrence Rhodes..
