[diesel_mercedes] Re : It's *Still* HOT !

And yes , I am still whining =8-) .

It's 10:46 PM and just now cooling off enough to where I can bathe & not sweat up the bed .

So , to-day we had to run errands all over L.A. as well as the SG Valley , I decided to take SWMBO's '82 240D as she never drives it on the freeway , 330,000 + miles and it still runs like a champ plus has ice cold AC .

I took a snooze in it idling underneath a shady tree in Compton as they went in to work out school transcripts for one of our boys .

He was very worried and kept asking them " shouldn't we go out and save Nate before he ruins the car ? " Shirley said ' relax ~ it's an old Mercedes , they're different and Nate would never hurt it " .

I did have to add 1/2 pint of coolant , it never leaks a drop so I wonder where it goes ? . the whole time we've had this car , I need to add a pint or quart of coolant occasionally . as the temp. gauge reached 90* C ,I figured it prudent to check before it overheated or worse .

The dang secondary fuel filter bolt is weeping again , ever since I changed out the fungus clogged one recemtly , it begins to weep fuel after a few weeks , I tighten the bolt again and it stops , only to begin again later on .

Today in the sun I decided to remove the filter and bolt and hand scrub everything Hospital clean , everything looked O.K. so I flipped the aluminum crush washer over and re assembled , it still weeps so I ordered up two new washers and if I can make it to P-A-P to-morrow or Sat. morning , I'll grab another bolt too just to make sure as I've gorrilla tightened this one so many times , I worry about the threads
