Nate, not being aware of what causes the pain, you may want to look into an electronic device the docs implant into your back. Works off a battery under the skin, and sends electronic pulses to counteract the pain. My mother in law has one and it helps her amazingly well. she is in her 80's and does laps around my backyard every day. She has fused vertebrae, metal, etc. I believe the company that makes the device is medtronic.
