Re: [diesel_mercedes] Tool Use Note

Um... on my 240D and 300SD, the main fuel filter in the engine compartment is a small spin on filter, kind of like an small oil filter.  There is no associated wrench flat.  I spin 'em on by hand, loosen with the filter wrench (strap wrench).

SWMBO passed in '08, was remarkably tolerant of my abnormal kitchen practices, though did get a bit testy of my heat treating cast bullets in the oven..

?? the fuel filter takes a 23 MM wrench to change...... and a box end one at that , I've seen too many leaky secondary fuel filters from M-B owners using the supplied open ended toolkit wrench .

If you're using an oil filter wrench on it , that's a bad thing to do .

_DON'T_ let SWMBO catch you using shop tools in the kitchen ! I have to maintain a separate house toolbox so she'd doesn't get mad.....

Not only is the fuel filter wrench on the diesel good for opening salsa jars, it's also the right size to change the oil filter on big Suzukis..
