[diesel_mercedes] The Self Serve Junkyard Experience

Yes, you never really know what you'll find, I used to go just to get exercise, now they have a pretty good OnLine web site that lists everything in the yard, when it was dropped in the rows and it's _exact_ location so you don't waste a lot of time .

They buy from insurance companies, tow yards, police impounds and of course, take that old jalopy you no longer want ~ I'm amazed at the daily parade of what I consider good used cars driving up to be sold for $200 or so, I guess life is so uncertain these days that many do not want to bother trying to sell to strangers ~ you to to LKQ, they look at it and your paper work and cut you a tiny check....

Most of the LKQ yards no longer offer to sell vehicles, a shame really .

Pick and Pull here in Vancouver is a dollar per visit.

With certain vehicles and parts, it may take months of visits to score.
They do have several local locations

which can be researched online. Sometimes they seem to be the 'only'
source, so I am inclined to try them.
