I arrived just fine .
It rained quite a bit , the temp. never passed 8* F and there was a stiff breeze all day long .
When I was in my Teens and Twenties , the Az. heat didn't bother me much , now it's bad and I worry about needing to change a tire , we'll see .
I went up the Chiriaco grade @ 102 MPH , 10" of boost and 82* C on the temperature gauge .
The vent hose on the rocker box keeps popping off , not a lot of oil spits out but it bugs me so I ordered up another rubber elbow ~ I already have the special spring clamp .
I left late this morning , got to Bloomington , Ca. before running completely out of fuel @ 573 miles , this returned 27.4 MPG ~ I think that's the best MPG's I've ever gotten out of this Coupe ~ I wasn't on the throttle much , no additives at all .
I cleaned the clear plastic intake screen three times , each time it had those tiny black chunks than when you touch them , *instantly* dissolve into fine jet black paste , no grit to be felt .
I tanked it up and added almost two pints of Startron , I can already see the black chunks collecting dammit .
I may have to remove the fuel sender again to see if fungus has started back growing in there .
I've been running it hard since I filled it up , swerving a lot left and right too , trying to get the cud in the fuel tank to get sucked into the tank screen....
It's *SO* beautiful out here in the Desert . smells nice too because of all the rain .

All I can say is this - maybe 5 or 6 years ago I had to take my wifes car (Martha) to Phoenix at the end of July. My wifes A/C was non-functioning. We left Phoenix and the road temps were 110-115. Blew one tire in AZ, and a 2nd tire outside Blythe. I sweated like a stuck pig changing the tires, my wife thought I was going to die, she got heat stroke outside of Blythe and the ambulance took her back to Blythe Hospital where we spent the next 8 hours. Going to Phoenix in April will be a piece of cake - enjoy the cool breezes.
