You are correct Alan ;
I want to learn how to do it the very best I can as i have discovered in the last 50 years that proper ignition timing is *everything* when it comes to good reliable power and driveability .

I spent two days afternoons removing an Injection Pump from an 1985 W-126 300SD , I plan to try it in my '84 300CD as it still smokes and I've replaced everything else....
It'll prolly turn out the IP is mis-timed but I want to teach myself how to properly time the IP anyway....
Suggestions or details on how to do it @ home gratefully accepted .
I read in the FSM I'm supposed to connect up an electric fuel transfer pump ? .- Nate--Al Boucher
