First: I did noot feel in any way that you were being condescendong. Second: I seem to remember seeing, on one of my cars, more steel around the end of that bar than my driver has. I may be misremembering. But at any rate it would be the worn rubber as much, or more than, the rust. The forces would push the top of tha arm inward causing the camber problem I have. But today is Saturday and I am in the middle of putting one of these engines in a jeep. So it will be another day for me too. I'll let you know how it resolves. Bogy. |

Hard to know how basic to make the explanation. Now that's a pretty funky place to put the sway bar. I think I'd prefer a three point upper control arm myself, rather than make the sway bar the third point. ![]() It actually doesn't look too bad to swap out. Battery tray, brake booster, some hoses and a few random small parts. Bet it's tight and awkward though. Oh probably the hood too, no? How does the upper control arm bushing look? If you jack it by the lower control arm so the suspension is loaded with no weight on the tire and yank the top of the wheel in and out you should be able to see any play, Though, the funky sway bar may interfere, some. You may have to figure out how to get some leverage on it to get movement. I don't know what else could affect camber that wouldn't have shown up as loosey goosey. Now you have me wanting to pull the wheels off, but I can't today. We're having a party and Momma would not be pleased.. |
