Who is your insurer? I have GEICO and when I hit a deer, it was a nightmare getting them above 4,000 on my car. I was dinged by the adjuster for such things as "smoke around tailpipe - indicating fire or engine damage". I might as well have been speaking Navajo when I said it's a DIESEL and that soot is typical. The body was also rated "bad shape" because of a minor ding with a chip the size of a ball point pen on the driver's side door. I've dropped coverage to liability only because they were such asses.
