[diesel_mercedes] AC

I hope you used R-12 and some god PAG oil .

So far I've not had to replace the R-4 compressor in SWMBO's '82 240D , I've re charged it once or twice and it always blows ice cold .

One important thing to keep your AC working for decades is to _USE_IT_ ~ every two weeks it needs to be run to circulate the oil and lubricate the seals .

Failure to do this is what kills 99 % of all AC systems .

FWIW , running the AC on full cold will defrost your windshield faster too , by the time you've gone three or four blocks the glass will be clear and you can cut off the AC and crank up the heat .

I got my AC working in my 80 240, finally. It's been working great for about 2 years now. Before that we replaced everything except the compressor and the AC would work  for the short summer then leak over the winter, then next summer a shot of AC juice and it would work. I finally replaced the compressor and now, wow, it works good. Max
