Ha but ;
Being a _German_ car , the glovebox is *infinately* adjustable to compensate for wear and the light remaining on , both the hinges and the latch's striker plate are adjustable .
In dire situations just pop out the light switch and slip on a thin O-Ring , re - install it and VIOLA ! no more courtesy lamp flickering in the darkness and bothering you .
