If they're the same length and threads , why not just buy a nice set of Monark brand M-B OM glow plugs and make up a new , heavier duty harness ? .

Using a slip fit connector on a heavy current draw item is poor engineering practice although it saved them some $ in both parts cost as well as initial assembly time .

If the M-B plugs will fit , I'd do that and never look back , problem solved permanently .

Remember to use far heavier wiring than the factory did , no point on loosing precious current warming up the hardness .

FWIW , you're _NOT_ on the wrong board , the good folks here always have good ideas about everything , that's part & parcel of being a Journeyman Mechanic : problem solving .
