I would not put a junkyard aux pump on. From what I have gathered, if they are out of spec on the amp draw, it can burn up your pushbutton box. They are available for less than $100 and they're an easy swap. Alternatively, you could check the amp draw on the junkyard unit and verify that it is within spec. Programa's web site has the specs in pdf files. (I have read mediocre reviews about Programa products, BTW, so I am not recommending their stuff, but just their site for info.)
