[diesel_mercedes] alternator bracket replacement

 

I need the alternator bracket replaced on the 84 300sd. MB quoted 250 part, and 450 labor. The shop that replaced the alternator quoted 250 for the part and I will find out tomorrow how much for labor. Do they have to lift the engine to replace? Anyone done this before and can describe the job for me, and maybe a difficulty scale estimate from 1-5.
Performance Products has the part for 154.
All opinions welcome.
