Thanks Mark,
I showed it to the guy at OReilley's and he didn't have it. I'll check Auto Zone today. Oh just remembered we do have a NAPA here in town. I WONDERED if that was part of my mpg issue. If you look close you can see the electrical tape holding it together. Boo hiss on that repair job! That's just plain lazy.
Yes I can replace them myself. I thank my father for raising me right. I think all dads should teach their daughters about cars!
Hey, Guys, Trish posted pics of a fuel leak from the return hose(s) on her car. That may be a source of the varying fuel mileage numbers that she is seeing.
Trish, the hose is sold in bulk at most of the MB parts sellers and maybe even your local auto parts store. It is an odd size and there should be NO visible leakage of fuel from these hoses so you really need the correct size.
Here is a link to a "kit" of replacement hoses that are precut for your car. The bulk hose is MUCH cheaper, if you find it, but this will get you going quickly.

You should be able to replace them yourself, very easily, if you like. Just make sure that they are firmly seated and that you do not see or smell a leak afterwards. This would be my first suspicion.
Take care,
Mark in Texas
