Re: [diesel_mercedes] W-123 Park Brake Light & Release

I only use my park brake once every year or two so I am not very smart about such things. One thing I do know - old people should not walk dogs - friend Duane had hip surgery Saturday morning in some hospital near Pico cuz his dog leash tripped him up and his femur did a "Max" job on him.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] W-123 Park Brake Light & Release

FWIW ;

The park brake warning light is a separate light from the low pads / hydraulic failure light . that one is red .

Has anyone here ever suffered the park brake release knob dragging or sticking ? .

My '84 Coupe's began dragging and in a week or three , stayed pulled out making the park brake unreliable .

To night I held it pulled out with one hand and rubbed the black plastic shaft with a clean paper towel , I was amazed at how much crud , dry crumbly stuff , stuck to the towel .

After a few repeats of this between working the knob in and out a few times , it turned glossy black again and freed up again .

Weird .
