Glow plug reamer to clean carbon is true. I think mercedes source sells (as do others), but I think it just hits the pre chamber? I have not done this yet but I'm sure some in the group have.

I think my glow plugs are not working properly. We have to cycle twice.
Sometimes in cold it won't start quickly even then. She catches then stops.
Again and again. Once started black smoke. Once however with no throttle pedal
she started and ran in cold weather. I am stumpped. Over night cold and
started with no throttle. Idled like a dream. I've heard of a glow plug reamer
to clean the carbon. Is this true? Lawrence Rhodes....
