HEY!!! it's Newdlhead.......how ya doin?

My understanding, is, forcing more air in, helps some with fuel efficiency
of combustion, but, also allows more fuel, in general, to be put in a
cylinder, and burn.
It works on gas engines.
I've never heard of the cost being worth the gas savings.
and, yes, you can hurt stuff with to much boost.

hi all. can you screw with fuel injection to lower the fuel delivery on a
gas engine(2 cyl moto sickle), and add a turbo to force more air in to get
the same original power with less fuel consumption, or does forced air in
general add power only when more fuel is added and does nothing alone other
than blow head gaskets? is it only diesels that forced air adds power w/o
increased fuel input? same wise, can you lower fuel delivery in a diesel and
boost turbo to burn less but keep same power?
ps, long time no see, where have you all been?

Actually, if you lean it too much you are likely to burn a hole in the top of the piston,  When that happens efficiency tends to go to Hell.  Again theoretically , the higher the compression ratio, the higher the efficiency, as long as you have good enough fuel and the timing set to eliminate pre-gnition.  Increasing the boost pressure should then improve efficiency and milage.
