Hi Diane - I own a 2001. They are built by Western RV in Washington.
The company, a camper, trailer, 5th wheel mfg started building them in
1998. The primary fault found with them usually is related to QC
during the build cycle. After the bugs are removed I rarely see or
hear of complaints or problems. The company is currently striving to
overcome these "build quality" problems but it is a slow
process...progress is being made though. They do not have
the "glitter" you see on a lot of coaches but I prefer that. Even
though service centers are few, I would buy another in a heartbeat
because they are so reliable. Without trying to sound like a salesman
or promoter, I would challange anyone to find a better handling coach.
The Peak chassis is absolutely great. I'm not certain what you mean by
asking if the chassis is servicable by anyone but on the surface I
would say it is servicable by everyone who services Diesel coaches or
possible Type A coaches. They are a coach known for "the ride" and
many people buy them for that reason alone. I have driven many upper
end coaches and have not found any to handle or ride better, and most
were not as good a "handling fit" for me. I could go on about the good
and bad but believe I have addressed your direct questions.
