You'll love the rebuilt turbo, as I sure noticed a much wider powerband as well as more power overall.
I'd get everything else sorted and go back to the wastegate adjustment at the end, with a boost gauge.

Interesting that all this turbo talk comes up just as I'm about to rebuild the one for the engine going into the Wagoneer. On Friday, I ordered both the rebuild kit and the new, balanced shaft from Bergsma (yeah, $$$!!); they should be here by the end of the week. I am most certainly going to go over the wastegate with the eye to increase the boost just ever so much when I re-assemble the turbo.
Right now, I'm mostly waiting for all the hardware (nuts, bolts, hoses, tubes, bracketry, etc.) to come back from the metal finisher. In the meantime, I'm cleaning, stripping and painting the block/head, pulleys, air filter housing, and other assorted and sundry iron and steel bits, in preparation for the big install.

THANK YOU ! .
Those two videos are very informative although the exact method of _how_ to adjust the boost pressure isn't included .
I also found this Kent video that's very helpful : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36CvnGHvLvE
I have a couple other things to test yet but now I have an ever increasing store of knowledge to pull from and I'll get this sorted out ~ so many bodge repairs were done to my poor old Coupe before I got it and I'm still learning the basic thing that should, nee, must be checked, yested and adjusted before making any other changes .
My car came with the wastegate hose disconnected and plugged, I wondered why and when I rebuilt the turbo some time back I wondered about the waste gate proper but didn't know how to test / service / adjust it, maybe now is the time .
ALL here who like to tinker should go watch these three short videos, I'm sure in the near future I'll be posting what I've learned about basic trouble shooting .
