THANX Bill ! .
I tried to subscribe the thread but even though it says 'thanks for singing in' it them jumps back to the sign in page...
Anyway, that link took me to a thread that had scads of _more_ links, many had photos, what I wanted .
I need to take an post, some pix of the 240D ~ I've spent a few days (? dayze ? ) hand rubbing out the paint then applying Granitize 'Polymet Wetcoat' wax over the cleaned up paint and it looks great ! . I'm still not yet done and I only have about one tablespoon left of this fantastic wax and I can't find who sells it anymore .
I have much to do yet on this old car but I'm loving every sore moment of both fixing and driving it .
I remember the Tijuana paint and upholstery jobs, as you said " wadded up newspapers and some sort of paper thread that disintegrated if it ever got wet....
I bought a spring box but want firmer seats 'cause I'm fat (230 + #) .
? Is there any source for the pads or squabs ?. mine are all falling apart .
TIA,
-Nate

Hi Nate,
What a question; I googled it and yep, your project is on the up-and-up.
Reminds me of the old days in LA, say 1956-1960. Rumor was you could get a good tuck-and-roll job on your car in Tijuana; just be careful they don't use wadded up newspaper instead of batting.
Keep us posted. Bill in Oregon
