Glad you found it so quickly .
I love how the most excellent engineering in these fine automobiles is also usually very simple .
As soon as this 100+ ° heat wave quits I'm going to try to cadge a ride to my house and try to drive my Coupe ~ it looks bedraggled and filthy .
Plus, Imiss driving it and am going crazy in this wheelchair .
I guess I'll have to try the walker with cup shaped left arm support as there's no way I'll ever get my wheel chair in the car .
Wish me luck .

OK, I found the leak, which seems to have nothing to do with the shop guys today.
On the 300D CA '85, there's vacuum line that attaches to the front of the turbo, that has a switch near the glowplug relay, which seems to be the source of the leak.
I capped it off there, and the car shuts off fine.
Looking at a vacuum diagram, that switch is a "Switchover valve, vacuum converter", and the vacuum line at the turbo goes to an "Air recirculating valve"
I'll see if I can find this "Switchover valve, vacuum converter" and pickup a bunch of new vacuum connectors/ hose. I wonder if Brian has these things.
Thanks Mark for getting me started.
