All right, getting ready to spring into action:
1. The insurance company for the driver will pony up $4,230. They have called Martha a "total loss" but I intend to keep her.
2. The collision repair shop has an estimate of $6,500 to repair the rear end damage.
3. I can get parts from Classic Center in Irvine, and other places to probably get the repair costs down around the $4500-$5000 range.
4. The rear panels are barely dented and we may be able to pound them out, thus saving $2000 for two rear fender body panels.
5. I have a good left tail light assembly thus saving another $400. Maybe one of you can find a right tail light assembly somewhere. I will take "great" but "good" is acceptable.
6. The trunk lid is $2000 and I would like to find one somewhere at a cheaper price.
7. There are lots of $2000-$4000 w123's for sale with various issues. It is getting to be a toss up as to whether I buy a parts car somewhere or not. At the moment I think I can take the $4,230 from the insurance company and rebuild Martha's rear end. Will need trunk lid, two tail light assemblies (have one), panels above the bumper, and maybe some trim parts.
