We had tremendous problem with that. The car sat for years before we got
it. It would run worse and worse and finally run out of fuel somewhere.
At one point I took it all apart scrubbed out the tank ABIC, blew out
and flushed lines, anything I could think of. The startron helped but
only for a while.
Then we got this new stuff K100. made in USA. One quart treats 250 gals.
It dissolves the fungus, goes into solution and goes away. Doesn't even
clog the filter.
No problem since. I imagine it degrades performance burning the crud
but it wasn't noticeable over the improvement in flow.
I just give it a splash when I fill it.

Oh yeah. They do grow on you. I wasn't thrilled Mia wanted a Merc, but
she's quite the little machine. A little tank with studs on the ice, too.
